Something about our home.

When I was eight, I used to be guilty about mom doing the laundry while we (her children) would play with our toy figures together with watching our cartoons.

When I was twelve, I was angry at how I have to do her chores while she (and her other children) would sit down and watch TV/tinker with the PC/do other pleasurable things.

I reached nineteen. Now, I understand everything.

I watch my youngest sister, age nine, doing EVERYTHING that I request of her, with that patient smile. So young, yet so mature.

Why, some people really mature ahead of others, eh?

I don't know.  She's 9.  Give her a few more years and see if she's still mature!

Maturity doesn't really cut across all fields the way we tend to assume it does. There are plenty of people who are mature about 99% of things but childish and obstinate in one field.

Perspective is interesting, eh?

RYC:   I am happy for you that you have joined that Kalinangan Youth Foundation. I don't know if I will still keep attenting the Rotaract Club meetings as I will be busy a week from now for my state board exam. However, I will still try to volunteer for the Missionaries of Charity. That group is more up my alley than the former.   On maturity... Well, I guess it depends on what we lack. Perhaps some others matured early because they have already worked in themselves that needs improvement while others still need a little kick in the pants to get themselves to improve. But all things considered, I think we will all get "there" - perhaps not at the same time, but we will.

we are forced into maturity because of the things that happened to us.
